Camp for Kids

Texas Elks Camp provides children with special needs and children in foster care an opportunity to try new things, meet new friends and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Veterans

Elks will never forget to show gratitude to our veterans. We honor our nation and our Flag. In 1907, the Elks designated June 14th to be Flag Day and in 1949, under President Truman, who was himself an Elk, Flag Day became a National Holiday. Navasota Elks is serving our homeless veterans with the Welcome Home Initiative with Welcome Home Packs to assist homeless veterans in transitioning into housing. We provide services and cooperate with our local Veterans Hospitals with programs including monthly Bingo, cook outs for Holidays, and collaborate with Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts to provide companionship and treats for the residents of our VA. Navasota Elks proudly provide a Veterans Retreat twice a year and encourage veterans to apply. All expenses are paid by the Elks and Veterans can stay at our Children’s Camp in Ottine Texas for fun activities like fishing and fellowship.

Children

Children are at the heart of every Texas Elk. Our State Major Project is devoted to our Texas children in need. It benefits the Texas Elks Camp, located in Ottine, Texas. Children with any special needs can apply to attend our Elks Children’s Camp every summer for a week of fun activities and a field trip to Sea World. This is at no cost to the kids and is 100% funded by the Texas Elks. Elks also provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant funding to Texas children with special needs that are not covered under medical insurance.  All grants applications need to be submitted to the local Lodge to be voted on by the members and approved for final processing. If you know of a child in need of a special grant in Navasota or the immediate surrounding area.

Scholarships

The Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any Texas high school senior who is a US Citizen.  They need your help.

Community

Elks National Foundation has invested millions back into local communities through the Community Investments Program.  Community grants are funded by member donations to Elks National Foundation .  The Navasota Elks Lodge use these grants to help build stronger communities, combat food insecurity, serve the kids, homeless, and veterans in need, literacy and scholarships for youth, and promote youth community service.  Navasota Elks also partner with Boys and Girls Organizations and promote Drug Awareness to our youth.  Navasota Elks also support a Hoop Shoot Program for local youth to compete in free throws all the way from a local, to district, to state, and finally to national level.
